OUR LOVE STORY
How We Met and Became Engaged:
This is the story all about how our lives got flip turned upside down, and we’d like to take a minute so just sit right there and we’ll tell you all about how we got from here to there. Lance and Clorissa met in college at a gathering that Lance’s brother was having with his college friends. After a few games, Lance offered Clorissa a Busch Light to break the ice. After an exchange of phone numbers, the courting began. Lance pursued Clorissa and finally after a month, she agreed they were in a relationship.
Many, many years later…
Clorissa’s family was getting together for a trip to Mackinaw Island. Clorissa was on edge that morning because they were running late and most of the family was already on their way there. Lance oddly insisted on wearing jeans despite the mid-70s temps predicted. Clorissa was preoccupied with getting everyone to the island and let it slide.
Once arriving at the island, we met up with the family to eat a quick lunch at the park. Then Dad wanted a family picture, so off we went to find a good backdrop for our family portrait. Some kind strangers took the photo of our family, then mom firmly ordered everyone to stay put and not go anywhere. Clorissa was perplexed as they had already decided where they were going next. Then Anna told Clorissa there was something in the sky behind her. Clorissa turned around to find Lance on one knee, smiling and shaking, saying “Will you marry me?” Clorissa was so shocked she just laughed, said “oh noooo”, then proceeded to not say anything for a minute. Lance staring at her with hope twinkling in his eyes and sweat trickling down his brow, until she finally replied, “Yes!”.
So pull up to our wedding about 3 or 3:30 and yell to our family, hey how ya doin?
Come to our wedding, yeah we made it.
Now we’ll dance altogether with our hands in the air.
